The Centre’s edu-carers strive to stimulate and exercise the minds and bodies of the learners to develop each individual and to unlock their fullest potential.  Staff members attend various workshops and seminars during the year to stay current with the latest treatment programmes to address nutritional, medical, behavioural & therapeutic needs. Staff members also attend debriefing sessions on bereavement, loss, anger & stress management.

Classroom activities include handicrafts, training to perform simple domestic tasks, self-help life skills and toilet training, and teaching alternative methods of communication. The staff also encourage outside play activities. The Centre offers physiotherapy as well as hydro-, speech- and occupational therapy. Music therapy is being offered to the learners by an outside company.

Learners are continuously reassessed and classroom programmes designed around their specific needs. The focus is on enabling the child to function as best as possible in order to be integrated into society and their community with no stress.

The Centre has a fully-equipped physiotherapy room and a special sensory room and garden where the children are taken to discover all their senses. It is important that, even as adults, learners continue to receive education and training. Without this stimulation they sit at home doing nothing, losing the skills that they have acquired and the relationships they have built up, very often becoming depressed and angry.
